Computation (15)
Tier 0
- Radio: It's a radio, it's been in use for ages past and ages to go.
- Basic Robotics: The most basic form of drones, little more than a remote controlled robot.
- 64 Bit Processing: The modern computer, all that needs to be said.
- 128 bit Computers: As technology becomes more and more complex, so to do the computers that enable them to exist.
- Pseudo-AI: While not a true AI, these collections of programs do a fairly good job of emulating one. Also known as a 'Chinese Room' computer.
- Subspace Radio: Utilizing an entirely new form of radio wave transmission, radios have drastically increased range, though they are still not usable for FTL communications yet.
- Subspace Sensors: Subspace sensors utilize a very strange and poorly understood principle of the universe. In exploiting this they are able to have rather significant range and capabilities. Scientists blame witches.
- Basic Artificial Intelligence: This is the beginnings of AI. Though still simple and with no personality, they are the foundations of AI development, generally with an IQ rating of 85.
- Early Nanoprocessing: Scaling a processor down to just millimeters can be hard, early nanoprocessing has created some of the first nanoscale processors, though they currently can't handle too much.
- Quantum Entangled Computation: Making use of subspace radios, the basic concept of quantum entanglement is able to jump ahead years in development, becoming something usable outside of labs.
- Subspace Communications: A major upgrade from subspace radios, now they are truly FTL. Though it still takes some time for messages to reach targets, far larger data packages can be sent over distances.
- 256 Bit Computers: Further development and improvement of computers.
- Advanced Nanoprocessing: Now processors have been scaled down not just to nanoscale, but expanded upon enough to allow considerable processing power in such a small form. While not as comparable to a full sized processor in capabilities, these nanoprocessors are still a leap forward.
Tier 4
- Nanocommunications: Until now, nanoprocessing has been more of a novelty, able to make devices much smaller. Now however they are capable of fully communicating between one another, the complicated meshes involved able to be attached and detached, creating a fully modular nanoprocessing mesh.
- Generalized Artificial Intelligence: A generalized artificial intelligence, capable of average tasks, through still lacking a personality they can at least simulate a personality. General IQ rating of 100.
